Six Senses Kanuhura

Lhaviyani Atoll, Maldives

About this Project

The marine programme at Six Senses Kanuhura was developed from the ground up to deliver a research-driven and impact-focused approach to conservation. It combines coral reef monitoring, seagrass ecosystem research, and community engagement to better understand and protect local marine habitats. Flagship initiatives include the Kanuhura Coral Census, the world’s first hotel-led long-term 3D reef monitoring programme, alongside seagrass mapping using drone surveys and AI-assisted analysis. By integrating science, technology, and education, the programme supports informed conservation action while engaging guests, staff, and local communities, positioning Kanuhura at the forefront of marine conservation in the Maldives.
